Family Ministries

Family Ministries

At Washington Apostolic Church we recognize the value that a strong family brings to the community and we encourage families to seek the Lord and grow together as one. We offer a variety of small groups and invite you to join the one that best fit your needs.

Children

At Washington Apostolic Church, we recognize the potential of children and consider them a most valued treasure. Our leadership actively seeks to form strong partnership with parents to help in their divine calling of parenthood and raising their children to love and fear the Lord.

Our children’s ministry, also known as RCM (Rhema Children’s Ministry) is formed by a team of committed individuals whose objective is to instill the Word of God on a consistent basis through various teaching methods. We offer weekly services that include: workshops, praise & worship and bible teaching.

A. Workshops

The purpose of our workshops is to cultivate and guide the student’s interests’ and turn them into talents that will be used to glorify The Lord Jesus Christ. The instructors for each of the workshops have extensive experience in each of the disciplines and encourage active participation in actual services. The following workshops are offered through RCM.

1. Arts & Crafts

The art & crafts workshop seeks to discover and develop the artistic talents through art projects that are aligned with the relevant daily biblical teaching. Your child will learn God’s purpose for his/her life through art projects that are designed to capture their attention and bring the message at a level they can understand.

2. Dance

The purpose of the dance workshop is to teach the biblical meaning behind each of the choreographies and the importance of praising God with our bodies, mind and soul. The girls that attend the dance workshop which start learning dance as young as 2 year olds have the opportunity to worship God through dance during every service.

3. Music

The music workshop offers a variety of instrumental instruction including string, wind and percussion. Students that play instruments in their school band are also encouraged to bring their instruments since both practical and music theory instruction is provided where all instruments are relevant and welcome.

4. Singing

Rhema church is home to experienced praise team singers who are more than willing to pass on instruction and experience to the younger generations. Singing lessons also include biblical instruction where students learn the significance of praising God through voice.

B. Praise & Worship

Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts, Whose name is the Lord, and exult before Him (Ps.68:4). Through RCM praise & worship time, children are given the encouragement to exalt God in song. Students of the music, dance, & singing workshops are given the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge gained through the lessons.

C. Bible Teaching

Every Sunday there is a biblical lesson based on a strong curriculum which is designed to magnify God by studying his character in the pages of scripture. The ultimate purpose is to bring the children to Christ and that they may learn at their young age their need for the only savior, Jesus Christ.

Marriage

We are married couples who have been married 1 to 10+ years. What do we have in common? Come and find out! We share our experiences, issues, complaints and what really works...all while we have a great time. Our goal is the same - to serve God as individuals and as a couple. We believe the Lord has a calling for all of us. Not only do we have our monthly lively discussions, but we also like to go out to eat, hike, picnic and just fellowship with another.
